Commercial Director (The Netherlands)


Initially reporting to, and with the plan to become the successor for the Regional Managing Director, this is a newly created, significant leadership appointment within the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

*Leading a multifunctional team of over 100 colleagues including sales, commercial and design
*Leading the transformation of the commercial team as part of a wider business transformation
*Ensure close working relationships with key customers to ensure the renewal of existing business and the generation of new business
*Lead and support the commercial teams to ensure they are securing and delivering significant major contracts
*Identifying and securing export opportunities via inter-Co cross selling; third party distribution channels, and other routes to market as appropriate

*Analysing and adapting commercial policy to prevailing and future market conditions enabling the company to maintain its competitive position and deliver growth

*Ensuring commercial excellence throughout the organisation

*Working as part of the SMT to ensure strategies are supported and embedded in the business, with particular focus on price management, safety, costs, profitability, quality and customer service.
*Coaching and performance managing all direct reports and the wider commercial function to drive a high-performance culture through the sales and commercial teams.

*Contributing to the new product development strategy based on customer feedback and requirements

*Ensure in country marketing activities are aligned to the group 's commercial strategy and add value

The successful candidate will be a proven commercial leader within the building products sector, ideally supplying significant construction clients.
You will possess first class leadership ability and the gravitas to manage a variety
Of stakeholders within this international group.

In addition, to be successful in your application, you will:

* Have proven ability to lead commercial teams including customer relationship management; pricing; strong negotiation skills.
* Possess outstanding communication skills, with the flexibility and adaptability to liaise with and manage at all levels in the organisation
* Be pragmatic and results driven with the ability to be both strategic and detail orientated
* Have previous experience of technical specification driven sales within the building products sector
